Neighborhood
Queen Anne is one of Seattle's premier neighborhoods and has something for everyone. Below are a list of recommendations mostly in the Queen Anne or immediate area. Sightseeing: 1. Kerry Park in Queen Anne: iconic Seattle Skyline lookout. It’s just a few minutes drive from the house. You could walk it on a nice day and if willing to climb steep hills. The views are awesome and I dare say it’s the most photographed/insta'd lookout in Seattle. 2. The new Waterfront: Seattle just opened a new waterfront park last summer. It’s a great place to walk and catch the views across Elliot Bay. The Park is well architected – done by the same folks that designed the Highline in NYC. 3. Pike Place Market: combine this with your visit to the Waterfront park because they’re right next to each other. The Pike Place Market is vibrant, chaotic, crowded, smelly, and very touristy… but also charming and feels a bit like time-traveling back to when it was the primary market of Seattle Food and Drink: Lower eastside of Queen Anne - easy walking distance from the house as it’s just a few blocks south 1. Laredo’s: Old wooden watering hole with a well-stocked bar, generous pours at good prices. I’d give the Tex-Mex a 6/10, but at really good price. 2. Mario’s: huge slices of pizza with affordable drinks in dark backroom bar that suits this rainy weather quite well 3. Citizen Collective: fun and quirky place for cocktails, coffee, and brunch. It has a great outdoor patio for games Upper Queen Anne: It’s a long, uphill walk through very charming neighborhoods. Upper Queen Anne is one of the nicest neighborhoods in Seattle. There’s TONS of options along Queen Anne Avenue. But, I’ll suggest a few personal favorites: 1. Grappa: Chic Mediterranean restaurant where you can share tapas, wine, great cocktails, and a good selection of beer. This is on the north end of the Ave and then you could work your way south. 2. Betty: Stylish, laid-back spot with great good and great cocktails. It’s small and can get very busy. If possible, sit at the bar near the door so you can watch the kitchen. 3. Sullys: chill place on QA Ave for a beer and burger. It’s primarily an Irish pub, but serves a lot of American pub food too. 4. Targy’s: a classic watering hole in Queen Anne. A little bit off the beaten path over on westside of Queen Anne, but it’s a local favorite. It’s like time traveling back to a dive bar in the 70s/80s. This is not nice, and not even faintly charming. And the bar tenders are sort of rude. But, you’ll see a lot of locals and it’s certainly a unique dive. 5. Paseo: they make a very good, and equally messy Cuban sandwich. Lower Queen Anne: 1. Toulouse Petit: very close to Climate Pledge Arena. Creole restaurant with an awesome décor. It’s a Seattle staple. Sometimes I find the food to be a bit salty, but it’s easily forgiven because it’s just a cool place. Gets packed so may need a reservation or go early.

You're in a great spot — an easy walk to Seattle Center, Uptown, and South Lake Union, with quick bus and light rail connections to the rest of the city. ON FOOT Seattle Center / Space Needle: about a 10-12 minute walk Climate Pledge Arena: about a 10 minute walk Uptown (restaurants, bars, QFC grocery): about a 10 minute walk South Lake Union / Lake Union waterfront: about a 10-15 minute walk BY BUS Nearby stops on Dexter Ave N & Aloha St and Queen Anne Ave N connect you to downtown, Fremont, Wallingford, and the U District. Route 32 loops through Seattle Center, Fremont, Wallingford, and the U District. RapidRide D Line runs frequently between Downtown Seattle and Ballard, via Uptown/Seattle Center. Routes 3 and 4 connect Queen Anne to Downtown and First Hill. Buses run every 10-15 minutes during the day. Pay with a tap-to-pay card, the Transit GO Ticket app, or an ORCA card — no cash needed on most routes. SEATTLE CENTER MONORAIL A fun, fast way into downtown: hop on at Seattle Center and you're at Westlake Center in about 2 minutes. Runs roughly every 10 minutes, daily. LIGHT RAIL The nearest Link Light Rail station is Westlake, reachable via a 10 minute walk, a quick bus ride, or the monorail. From there, Link connects you to Sea-Tac Airport (about 40 minutes), Capitol Hill, the U District, Northgate, and the Eastside (Bellevue) via the East Link extension. RIDESHARE & TAXIS Uber and Lyft are widely available and typically arrive within 5-10 minutes in this area. BIKING Queen Anne is hilly, but Lake Union's flat waterfront path is close by and great for an easier ride. Lime bike share is available throughout the neighborhood. DRIVING & PARKING Free street parking is available and easy to find — there's almost always a spot right in front of the home or in front of a neighbor's house. If street parking is ever a challenge, you're welcome to use the driveway (please don't block the sidewalk). If you have a larger vehicle, you can block the driveway itself. Technically this isn't allowed, but it's never been enforced. Please note that if you do receive a ticket/towed, it will be your responsibility — the owner will not cover any parking citations. Downtown parking garages run $15-30/day if you're headed that way with a car. Tip: The Transit app or Google Maps both show real-time bus and monorail arrivals — handy for planning your trips around the city.
